time in a bottle?

Why have we allowed this to become an issue? What was done for centuries before we became "civilized"? Do away with the problem that we have created as we have not created or saved any time.

Wisdom of Daylight Saving Time

I wish there was one positive reason for this supposedly good idea of saving energy. This act in fact wastes so much energy and creates confusion for a few days. The only other explanation of this collective stupidity is that we thank that by changing time we are actually changing sunrise and sunset times.

Simple fix for DST

There is a very simple fix to this whole non-sense called Daylight Savings Time. Move our clocks 1/2 hour and don't ever touch them again. With this simple change, you will never be more than 1/2 hour from either daylight savings time or from daylight time. So simple, yet it will probably never happen.

Population increase

I node that saving time in my family cause a bunch of my cousins belly to swell and then they had babies. Got dark faster and they was a drinking more.

DST all year

I feel as though my life is shortened when it becomes 5:00 pm and it's dark. It's difficult to drive at night, and read street signs. Longer daylight hours should reduce crime. People can get more excercise later in the day. Just leave it on DST.

indiana

Indiana doesn't do this they simply change time zones

i find this ridiculous

as far as i know daylight depends on the sun. & the last time i checked, no one had a clue on how to control that, so why do we pretend we are saving daylight, saving energy, bla blah.. why get into this silly mess, and create unnecessary complexities?

More light at night

I've got to say I'd prefer more light at nigh so according to this that'd be the summer schedule or day light savings time. Up here in the north, regardless of the time system it's dark going to work and pretty much dark getting off based on bankers hours. For those of us who do work I would bet appreciate that extra hour of day light we get in the evenings to get in that bike ride after dinner or more time to get the land scaling done or go out and have a game of soccer. Where without the time change you can get up real early to do it instead, but you got to talk your friends into it and hope and pray that you don't get a flat on your bike ride and get late for work or not get to finish your soccer game cause guess what it's time for work.... Let's just switch to day light savings time like Iceland or that other z place

Double Daylight Savings Time

That would be great. Go on Daylight Savings Time full time and do Double Daylight Savings Time (DDST) in the summer!

Nov 7, 2010 - TOO LATE!

It's only 10/23 and already I hate waking up to darkness. I think 11/7 is too late in the year to be changing our clocks back - I'm having a hard time adjusting now.

forward time

I went to church, planning on teaching class. When I arrived, it was over!

Abolish DST

Butch obviously does not have a computer, He also doesn't have to put up with fouled up TV schedules and worrying about which 1:00 to 2:00 to use in the fall. I am dedicated to throwing DST out the door: http://NoMoreDST.BlogSpot.com You can just shift your schedule to doing things earlier in the late spring, early fall and summer but put the clock to Standard Time and leave it there. Stop having childern going or coming from school in the dark just so congress people can have their extra hour of golf. It is insane that some child has to die just so a congress person has an extra hour of golf.

One way or the other- Who really cares??

When I was younger, I pretty much accepted the status quo on DST. There were pros and cons to both. However, about 4-5 years ago, my body sync clock just started acting wacko. I ccontributed it to getting older. Ever since then, I just can't seem to get my body into any type of rhythm. Sure look forward to retiring. On a past note, during the energy crisis of the 70's, I do remember one time, the government left us on DST for well over a year! It worked pretty good then, even during the winter months.

DST is BS

No farmers don't even get up early anymore and in the old days they worked with the actual sunrise/sunset and many never looked at a clock. It's destructive, lame, idiotic and all it takes is shifting work schedules an hour if a firm needs to beat the heat of summer or have a longer workday. As for school buses it would take a shift in the start time to accomplish the same rather than aggravating the entire population. WTF did people do for eons before all this baloney? I'm nearly tempted to move to AZ so I don't have to deal with this anymore.

Daylight savings time

I used to milk cows, and had some early mornings. One time when we switched from regular to daylight time, I got the hours confused. I should have spring forward but instead I fell back. I arrived at the cow barn b e fore dawn, turned on the lights and began to milk the cows. AFter about half an hour, when noboy else showed up, I began to realize I had messed up the time. It wasn't worth going home to sleep for half an hour and coming back, so I had the whole first shift milked by the time the farmers arrived. They had a good laugh at my expense! I don't think daylignt savings time saves any electricity- people get up before dawn anyway. I taught school, and the classroom lights are on all day no matter what time of year it is. Abolish daylight savings time!
