Census - No problem
- Put how many in you home and their names only. All the other data, even though less intrusive this time, is still none of their business. Guard your privacy, no one else will.

yes
- The reason their are so many who are unwilling to fill out the census is because we no longer trust our government. A minimum requirement as set by the US Constitution would eliminate much of the debate. Additional information would be voluntary.

American Self-knowledge
- Rarely have I read such silliness among supposed adults, although a few of you seem certifiably paranoid. There is no long-form this time. There are only ten, non-intrusive questions, including one about whether you rent or own. Even if there were, why would you not want the country, including your own community leaders, to understand its own demographics? It is basic information which a complex society must reflexively know about itself. It is also used, not only to apportion membership in the U.S. House of Representatives, to disperse about $435 billion for such things as emergency services, highways, bridges, tunnels, hospitals, senior citizen centers, school lunch programs, and so on. Censuses are thought to go back 3,500 years to ancient China, Mesopotamia, and Egypt. Those of you who are Christian should know that Joseph and pregnant wife did their duty to be counted in Bethlehem. This is not a liberal conspiracy, nor is it an act of repression. It is Constitutional and legal

- As always including the long form, they get the number of people living in the house. To show you the quality of folks running this thing-- the guide from the census site wants to know who is living in the house on April 1, 2010, but the due date IS April 1. Go figure.

- Its None Of Their Business And I Am Not Filling It Out.I Am A Taxpaying Law Abiding Citizen Who Is Not Pleased With This Administration Where God Is Thrown Out Of Our Country And Insurance Requirements Are About To Be Imposed On Us That Cant Afford Insurance Of Any Kind. And Now The Us Government Wants To But In My Business? No.If I Am Required To Fill It Out I Will List One Person My Self Only On It.It Will Not Be Accurate. And If They Come to The Door To Get Info They Are Wasting Their Time Because No One Will Give Them Info Here.U Wanna Know My Business Go Check With That Government U Are Supporting. They Say We Cant Move Forward unless U Fill It Out.Hello? We Arent Moving Forward No Matter How many We Fill Out.Maybe All They Wanna Do Is Get A Head Count Of How Many People Live Here So They Can Start Up A Draft And Send Our Overpopulated Coutrymen Over to Get Killed.I Am Not Against War But Signing Up I Believe Should Be A Choice.Maybe Democrats Need A Count So Abortions Can Be Legalized

Info Not Needed
- Name, Rank and Serial number is all our military are ordered to give out if captured. Why then are we, the general public, required by law to divulge personal and private information? Personal financial affairs such as if one owns their home and how much the mortage is for and how much the house payments are each month as well as insurance costs for for insuring that home. Whether any woman of the house has had a child in the past 12 months is no one's business and serves no purpose for being asked in a census. Long form questions.

I Will Only Answer The Lawful Questions
- Just because a temporary group of politicians pass a bill and they call it "law" does NOT make it actually a law. A "law" is NOT LEGITIMATE if it goes beyond the specific enumerated powers granted to the Federal Government in Article 6 Section 8 of the Constitution. Although it may have "all the trappings of a legitimate law," it is illigitimate when it breaches the specific limited powers. So my answer to this question is; YES, I will fill out the part that requires me to list the number of people living in my household, and NO, I will not answer any other question in the Census form beyond that.

No one protects citizen confidentiality
- Trobster, you cannot seriously believe that the Census protects citizen confidentiality better than the citizens' themselves, can you? I am positive that I am best able to keep secret about me information I want to remain secret.

Only what is required by the U.S. Const.
- Capt, U.S. Navy (Retired) I will give only what is required by the Constitution, Art. I, Sec. 2. Anything more is intelligence gathering and an invasion of privacy.

- I had someone doing a census survey for the department of health!!!! When I went out to see who was at my door, she showed me her I.D. and told me I had to particpate in this survey and wanted to scheduled an appointment. I told her I work three jobs...I don't have time for this. She gave me her card and said I should call her cause she is much nicer than the other person conducting this survey! hmmm is that a threat?? she won't hear from me and if she gets me on the phone I will give the number of people in my house and ages PERIOD!!!! They want to know about private medical issues, treatments, doctors visits, etc.....YEAH RIGHT!!!KEEP THE GOVERNMENT OUT OF MY HEALTHCARE!!!!! AND STOP WASTING MY TAX DOLLARS ON THIS CRAP!

- Whoever put the website up has the right idea, but he needs to learn the basic English language before engaging in a website endeavor. The poor grammar and spelling make him look like an illiterate fool.

NOPE
- I won't answer anything beyond how many adults live in my household. The federal government has no constitutional authority to ask anything further. I will not give out private details about myself or my family to an increasingly tyrannical government. I'll pay the $100 fine long before I'll provide a bunch or career criminals with my personal information.
- —Guest JimmyH
Yes I will fill it out
- What is the big deal? If the government can go to all of the trouble to check your tax records for your annual income, and the county records for other information. That means they can get it anyway. We are Americans.. We need to KEEP AMERICA OURS! I think there should be a question "Are you here legally or illegally?" on it.. Then all of the illegal ones should be deported. Yes I am going to give the government the information that they can obtain through other means, there is no sense to fight it.. If you ask me the only people that want to fight the Census are the druggies and dopers that have something to hide. Be who you are, and AMERICAN Stand up for what is right and be counted. Fill out the Census and be the AMERICAN you were born to be.
