From Nicole
"I grew up camping on the East Coast and quickly developed an affinity for nature and its unpredictable behaviors. Even as a child, I knew that writing about the environment was the perfect niche for me.I recently returned from an exploration of Costa Rica in which I traversed through both the rainforest and cloud forest with locals. My most prized experience during the trip was getting lost in the forest near Witch's Rock, a secluded beach within the Santa Rosa National Park, and helping a dozen locals build a proper road in the pouring rain. I plan to make future trips to Peru, Chile, and Ecuador (specifically the Galapagos Islands). Traveling is not only a learning experience in terms of physical geography, but also one in terms of the culture, politics, and general human element of a region. This is what makes our world so fascinating."
