Colin Stief is a budding geographer who looks forward to contributing to the content of this website and interacting with its visitors.

Education

Colin is currently a senior at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, completing a B.A. in Geography, a minor in a course of study focused on the ways in which humans interact with the environment (think environmental law or 'green' architecture) entitled Environmental Practices and Principles, and an additional minor in Geographic Information Sciences (GIS).

The first two years of school Colin changed majors often. Not being able to choose a discipline that suited his wide-ranging interests, Colin finally landed on geography, a field that allows for a lot of flexibility in choosing a specialization. He now actually enjoys going to class.

Interests

When it comes to Geography, Colin is mostly interested in cartography, political geography, and development, particularly in developing countries. He plans on attending graduate school sometime in the future and is even considering a doctorate a little later.

Outside of the classroom Colin can be seen fishing on a pond, shooting hoops on the basketball court, reading books on the couch, or playing online games (particularly Scrabble) in front of the computer.
