By , About.com Guide

Jordan Fisher is a fall 2012 geography intern and writer for Geography at About.com.

Education

Jordan recently graduated from the University of Arizona's college of Geography and Regional Development where he received a bachelors of science in regional development and a minor in general business administration. His studies focused on regional development, as a discipline of geography, exploring the various topics of transportation, urban development, spatial and locational analysis, gentrification, disaster and risk management, and human-environmental interaction. In addition, Jordan's geographical studies at the University of Arizona led him to explore water shortage issues and ecological troubles throughout the southwest United States. His senior research piece was titled "The Transformation of New Orleans' Ethnic Geography and Social Construct Post-Hurricane Katrina," which examined the alteration of New Orleans' preexisting social stratification as a byproduct of the evacuation procedures, loss of housing stock, and population migration in the southern Louisiana region.

More About Jordan

Jordan currently lives in his hometown of Houston, Texas, where he performs commercial real estate valuation and intracity demographic research. His hobbies, outside of his academic interests, include cycling, hiking, and music production.
