Equinox

Definition: The beginning of autumn and spring, the two days each year when the sun is directly overhead at the equator. Approximately March 20-21 and September 21-22.
Also Known As: The term equinox means "equal nights," in reference to the day and night being 12 hours long everywhere on the planet.
Examples:
Many traditional cultures celebrate the equinox as the beginning of spring and fall seasons, which are significant for agriculture-based societies.
