Listservs and Newsgroups
There are several key listservs and newsgroups online for geographical communication. Listservs operate via email and each time someone "posts" to a listserv, all members receive a copy. Newsgroups are less intrusive - you can read newsgroup postings and replies as you'd like, ignoring those subjects which don't appeal. To join a listserv, you'll need to subscribe with your email address. To visit a newsgroup, you can use software available through your browser or through your Internet Service Provider or you can read postings through an online service like Deja News.
