Fillmore Fire Department

The Fillmore Fire Department, founded in 1914, is still predominantly a volunteer fire department (only the chief and captain are paid staff). A bell tower still sits atop the station; an electronic horn was added later. Two engines and one truck operate in the city. The fire station is located on Main Street, adjacent to the vacant bank building. The department receives approximately 900 to 1000 calls a year, about eighty percent are for medical aid.
