Vacant Carpet Store

This masonry building was once next door to the Masonic Lodge, which was torn down after the 1994 earthquake. Notice the remaining wall which sealed the space between the two buildings. This building was originally built as the Safeway Market but then became a Western Auto parts store. Later it became a gym and after the earthquake it was converted to a carpet store. It is now vacant. The building has two doors in front which begs the question of whether it was originally only a grocery store.
