How new is New Delhi?

The British, who occupied India, moved the capital city from Calcutta (now known as Kolkata) Delhi in 1912. The government wanted to build a brand-new capital city so they constructed a new city adjacent to Delhi. The new city was completed in 1931 and became known as New Delhi. The original Delhi became known as Old Delhi.
