What is the highest point in the United States?

The highest point in the United States is Mt. McKinley, an Alaskan mountain that is also known as Denali. Its peak is 20,320 feet (6194 meters) above sea level.

In the contiguous (lower) 48 states, the highest point is California's Mt. Whitney, at 14,495 feet (4418 meters). Interestingly enough, Mt. Whitney is less than 100 miles (161 km) from Death Valley, the lowest point in North America.
