Where is Caprivi's Finger?

Caprivi's Finger is the name of the panhandle (narrow strip of land) protruding from the northeast corner of Namibia and toward Botswana and Zambia.

The panhandle was named for German Chancellor Georg Leo von Caprivi who acquired the land from the British in 1890 in order to obtain access to the Zambezi River for Namibia (then known as German Southwest Africa). The strip is about 300 miles (480 km) long but no more than 65 miles (105 km) wide.
