There are many great geographical organizations around the world for people interested in being involved in geography.

American Geographical Society
The AGS is the oldest professional geographical organization in the U.S., founded in 1851. Their site includes information about the organization and membership.

Association of American Geographers
Since 1904, the AAG has served to advance professional studies in geography; it's the leading professional organization in the U.S. The site includes information about membership, the annual meeting, specialty groups, and more.

AAG Specialty Groups
The specialty groups of the Association of American Geographers.

Canadian Association of Geographers
The home page of the Canadian Association of Geographers, publisher of The Canadian Geographer. Information about annual meetings, membership, publications, and more.

European Geography Association
The European Geography Association (EGEA) forms a network around Europe to exchange knowledge and information for geography students and young geographers.

GENIP
The Geography Education National Implementation Project coordinates geography education outreach for the four professional geography associations.

Geographical Society of Ireland
Membership and other basic information about the Geographical Society of Ireland (Cumann Tíreolaíochta na hÉireann).

Institute of Australian Geographers
The IAG site includes membership information, the constitution of the institute, and other items of interest about the institute, which was founded in 1958.

International Geographical Union
There's not but on their site, but you can still learn a bit about the organization here.

National Council for Geographic Education
