How to Win at SimCity
From your Geography Guide

Winning at any version of SimCity is easy, by following a few simple rules.

Difficulty Level: Average    Time Required: 120 minutes

1. Start out slow. Don't waste your money by improving too much area. Wait for Sims to complain for improvements.
2. Keep demand high. Low taxes, low crime, and high land values are the keys. Start your taxes low so more Sims will move in and gradually raise taxes.
3. Build as large areas of residential, commercial, and industrial as possible to limit transportation costs.
4. Keep your demand as high as possible by using principles of slow growth.
5. Keep your power supply as close and low to the requirement as possible, don't build too large of power plants.
6. Look at your maps often; they're very helpful. Use them especially to maximize your fire and police coverage.
7. A dense city is a good city.
8. Avoid loans as much as possible, they can ruin you.
