The major reason for Croatia’s entry, from one newspaper article, is:
” the promise of billions of euros in EU investment that they hope will help boost them out of what looks like a fifth year of economic recession and their 21 percent unemployment rate.”
So yet another lame duck entry that will need to be financed by UK, Germany & co.
WHY DO THEY KEEP DOING IT!!!!!!!
Lovely people & country (we were there a couple of years ago), and some of the best scenery in Europe.
But new EU member? No thank you.
The next even lamer dog coming up, I think, is Montenegro next door, to which all the above remarks apply, times 10!!

Such a cost to prevent another war! The EU was initially created so that here would not be another world war; then no more Balkan wars.
But the economic and psychosocial cost to Germany and France is too expensive. Who is next to drag down EU…Ireland, Portugal, Italy?

28 is too many. Fragmentation is the natural result of attempts at unity!
