Urban Heat Islands Have Impact Far From City

LondonWe always knew that urban heat islands have a major impact on their local environment but now researchers have discovered that they have an impact at a much greater distance than previously thought. The study reports that the excess heat of urban heat islands changes air circulation patterns and then continues by following air and ocean currents, including the jet stream.
