The latest edition of National Geographic's world atlas has a nice section on global urbanization. Included are population estimates for the world's megacities, those with a population above 10 million. Based on that data, I have compiled a list of the 18 largest cities in the world, in which we still find Tokyo as the world's most populous urban area on the planet.
