The United Nations General Assembly recently elected Azerbaijan, Guatemala, Morocco, Pakistan and Togo to serve as new non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council for two-year terms starting on January 1, 2012. The new countries will replace Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Gabon, Lebanon and Nigeria.
