South Korea to Host 2018 Winter Olympic Games

The International Olympic Committee selected Pyeongchang, South Korea yesterday as the host city of the 2018 Winter Olympic Games. Pyeongchang is South Korea's third largest city and is located in the Taebaek Mountains region of the country, about 110 miles east of Seoul. The 2018 Winter Games in Pyeongchang will be the third held in Asia (the two previous Asian Winter Games were held in Sapporo, Japan in 1972 and in Nagano, Japan in 1998). Pyeongchang beat out Annecy, France and Munich, Germany to host the 2018 Winter Games.
