The U.S. Census Bureau has just released its first set of data from a five-year period from the new American Community Survey, a sampling survey of American households which replaced the old long census form. The American Community Survey data provides detailed data at the census tract and block-level. The New York Times provides an incredible map of some of the data released from the American Community Survey. The U.S. Census Bureau also has a site that provides access to the data, along with PDF maps produced by the Bureau. I strongly encourage you to explore the ACS data available on these sites and see what a valuable resource the American Community Survey has become.
