China has surpassed Japan to become the world's second largest economy. New numbers released by China show that is has become the primary Asian superpower after growing by record numbers over the past few decades. Japan's economy was valued at $1.28 trillion while China grew to $1.33 trillion. Some forecasters expect that China will surpass the United States to be the world's economic superpower as early as 2030.

I don’t understand this post. I’m happy that China has become #2 economy but I thought that the figures were:

1 USA $US14.8 trillion
2 China $US 5.36 trillion
3 Japan $US 5.27 trillion

They ran a story on this on NPR a week ago. There were a few different view points about how it will affect us in the states.

One claimed that we wouldn’t see any difference. The other said we should expect tv shows to start turning up with Chinese sub titles.
