A Few Interesting Maps

This is not to be missed! This Google Maps overlay is a, "world map color-coded by level of touristiness, based on analysis of photos on Panoramio" (Google's version of Flickr) It's not completely accurate because it includes photos taken and geotagged by non-tourists but it's a beautiful map nonetheless. Thanks to FP Passport blog for the map

The BBC provides an interesting thematic map showing the percentage of residents online by country from 1998 to 2008.

Finally, while it's not a map, the Geographic Travels Blog shares this listing of American cities' GDP compared to foreign countries' GDP. For example, the economies of India, Australia, and Mexico are smaller than the economy of the New York City metropolitan area.
