It is hard to fathom what 7 billion people means. How much does the world population increase in a day? A week? A month? A year?
Read this, it will just blow you away. It is posed as a ‘challenge’ but the solution is posted at the bottom:

Then think of the resources that need to be made available to provide basic needs.

18% of US children in poverty is bunk! The dollar statistic for poverty is artificial and used only to dole Federal dollars. The recently deceased Frank McCourt knew poverty. Poverty means owning few, if any, material possessions and this is not the case in our country.
Having read the Washing Post article August 15, 2009 “Downturn Brings A New Face to Homelessness”, and considering the USA’s Gini Index, etc. I disagree with “mapman” to the extent that I suspect that at least 12.5% of Americans live in poverty. I also suspect that the rate would be higher for children.
I am also surprised that the 7bn population mark may not be reached until 2011. I thought that would happen by the end of this year.
Is there any organization, company, etc. that educates people with the highest fertily rate in the world not to have more than 1 or 2 children per couple, due to overpopulation?
Thank you for your reply!
18% of children are living in poverty in the United State of America, that’s junk. America is a well populated area or country. Nigeria is the most populated black country as far as Geography is concerned. When the population is too much there will no homes for poor people to stay and even those youths walking about on the street doing nothing. The Government has established an idea known as VOCATIONAL TRAINING this vocational training help youths without jobs to engage themselves in this training and use it to form an occupation. There the Government to establish it in all the states.

Therefore the Government should establish it in all the states so that there won’t be over crowding in a particular state. If the Government does not establish it in all the states it will cause overcrowding and unemployment.
