Same-Sex Couples to Be Included in Census 2010

Reversing a decision by the Bush administration, the Obama administration has decided to allow the U.S. Census Bureau to collect and report data on same-sex marriages in Census 2010. In Census 2000, same-sex marriages were not allowed in any state so there was no need to count them. However, by Census 2010, a number of states will have allowed same-sex marriage.
