Las Vegas is home to plummeting house prices. The Las Vegas Sun has published a map that dramatically displays the one year drops of house prices, some more than 50% since 2008 alone. The text accompanying the map reports that some single family homes in Las Vegas are selling for less than $50,000.

That map amazes me! Where I live (Sydney NSW Australia) we think we are doing well if we can buy a house or apartment for fewer than $A 300,000 i.e. $US 240,000.
