Political Geography of Space

The new international news site GlobalPost.com has an interesting article about the political geography of Low Earth Orbit. As the article points out, Low Earth Orbit is now home to over 400 military and commercial satellites and so it's getting crowded out there. There is currently no overall authority for the use of outer space but there is a voluntary registry of orbiting objects maintained by the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space.
