I suppose that the dry cleaners might be one of the last places you'd expect geopolitical activism. After all, it's the dry cleaners. However, in New York City about 100 Korean-owned dry cleaners have taken on a geopolitical cause through the plastic bags that cover one's dry cleaned clothing. The businesses are publicizing the status of Dokdo Island, claimed by both Korea and Japan. The "island" is also known as Liancourt Rocks, an uninhabitable collection of rocks in the Sea of Japan (or the East Sea, depending on your perspective) and is currently occupied by Korea. The New York Times has more.

Oh goodness, not another Japan versus Korea geography battle. Let the World Baseball Classic decide who wins, once and for all.
