I am delighted to see an article on the Columbian Exposition. As I child I was among millions who “saw” the fair many years later in very vivid 3-D on a Stereopticon, an optical device wherein post card sized 3-D photos could be viewed. It was awesome.
But I remember very well, fifty years after the Columbian, the “Century of Progress” Chicago Worlds Fair in 1933 and ‘34. I have been to three more World Fairs subsequently, all were great, but none compared.
