Fortunately or unfortunately, France has waned in global influence. Many countries today recognize English as “the world’s language of business and communication” because of the practicality of using English when transacting with other states across the globe. I wonder though, with the rising influence of China and India, if later this century or in the next, countries will begin using Mandarin or Hindi as a medium of instruction in schools.
