The BBC is tracking the path of a shipping container around the world for a year. Their project is called The Box and you can follow its path (with a GPS-based map) around the world as it carries various cargo in a dramatic example of globalization. As of this writing, The Box is carrying whiskey from Scotland to China and is located just off the coast of Spain.
