The International Boundaries Research Unit at Durham University has produced a detailed and comprehensive map of territorial claims in the Arctic. The political geography of the Arctic has been the subject of great debate between countries that border the area as the ice melts and trade routes open and the opportunities for resource extraction become available.

I think the best solution for the territorial claims in the Artic is that , according to Mr. Pratt, the terretories should be administered by the International Seabed Authority on behalf of humanity as a whole”.
That’s a good idea.
An agreement has, as of yesterday, been reached between Norway and Russia concerning the border on the continental shelf in the Barents Sea. The disputed area will be divided approximately 50/50 between the countries.
