The population of New Orleans grew 13.8% between July 1, 2006, and July 1, 2007 as residents returned to the hurricane-ravaged city, making it the fastest growing large city in the United States (among those with a population above 100,000). Number two on the list was Victorville, California, whose population climbed 9.5%. Houston, Texas added 38,932 residents during the time period to lead the nation in numerical population increase. The U.S. Census Bureau has more. You can read about post-hurricane population decreases in Louisiana in this article here on my site.
