Bertha: First Hurricane of the Season

Tuesday July 8, 2008
Tropical Storm Bertha became Hurricane Bertha today, becoming the first named hurricane of the 2008 Atlantic Hurricane season. Bertha is in the Atlantic Ocean and could be headed toward Bermuda but poses no current threat to the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. The National Hurricane Center has more, including maps and updates. Take a look at my list of hurricane names for the names of upcoming storms.
