U.S. Embassy in Berlin Moving Back to Pre-WWII Location

Thursday May 22, 2008
Next Tuesday the United States Embassy in Berlin, Germany, will open again at the location where it stood until 1941, when U.S. diplomats left at the outbreak of World War II. Construction began for the new building in the German capital in 2004. The grand opening of the embassy will take place on Independence Day and will celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of the Berlin Airlift. The International Herald Tribune has more.
