Ireland Town Wins Name Spat

A 2004 law in Ireland required that all towns adopt the Irish-language version of their name. While about 2300 towns were affected, the community of Dingle rejected a change to become Daingean. The town recently won government sanction to become the compromised name Dingle Daingean Ui Chuis. The New York Times has the story.
