Google Earth and the New York Times have partnered up to provide a new layer of Google Earth that shows the locations of global news around the world. The new layer can be found in in Gallery section. It's fun but I did find an article about golf cart thefts in an Atlanta suburb which was mis-placed in Georgia in the Caucasus.
