The Washington Post has an article that discusses the anticipated drop in the number of college students over the next few years. Much of this drop can be attributed to the end of the period of Baby Boomers having children of their own. For example, the total number of births in the U.S. dropped from 4.16 million in 1990 (today's 18 year-olds) to 3.9 million in 1995.
