New Cyprus Leader Looks Toward Unification

Last Sunday, communist leader Demetris Christofias won Cyprus's presidential election. Christofias vows to end the division of the island of Cyprus to create a unified country. He pledges to meet with Turkish Cypriot president, Mehmet Ali Talat as soon as possible. Do you think it will work? The New York Times has more.

AS a resident of Cyprus for two years, I feel this would be a good step in healing this injustice. Many of our friends lost their nice homes in the north of the island. They are very hardworkding family oriented people.
