New Flag for Iraq

By , About.com GuideFebruary 17, 2008

The Iraqi parliament approved a new flag for the country, which is much like the old flag but without the three stars that represented Baathist ideals. "Allahu akbar," which means "God is great" in Arabic remains on the flag with red, white, and black horizontal stripes. The New York Times has more.

The Saudi Arabian flag design by comparison, shows TWO SWORDS next to the Arabic text “There Is No God but Allah, whose prophet is Mohammad.” No wonder that Saudi Arabia’s militant Wahabi’ist teachings spawner Osama Bin Laden and most of the 9/11/01 hijackers.
