Russian media sources are reporting that Russian President Vladimir Putin may sign a merger agreement with Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko when Putin visits Minsk this week. Talks of a merger between Russia and Belarus have been in place for over a decade. Some suspect that the move is designed by Putin to cause a new constitution to be formed, possibly giving Putin a longer political life. The Christian Science Monitor has more.

Lukashenko is a real tyrant. He is usually included each year, in Sunday ‘Parade’ magazine’s (USA) annual list of the world’s 10 worst rulers. He and Putin are both corrupt and rig both countries’ elections.
