You know, with the way that the world is headed, I’m certainly not keen on making money off any Water shortage that is expected to arise. When will we really remember that we are spiritual as well as physical beings.. and that water should belong to everyone without cost. Very sad news for our children and their children.

Is there any non dangerous city left in the world today ?? ……….. and tomorrow ??
I prefer to live in a small city (no more than 20.000 inh.) to have a reasonable chance to survive.

I happen to live in Metro Detroitand my friends and I had this conversation the other day. It was about if we ever feel safe going into Detroit. You can probably already guess the answer is NO! Once I found out that Detroit was the most dangerous city I could believe it.

NO! Crime of all kinds in N.Y. City has gone way, way, down the past decade or two. Although this year it’s up again just slightly.

One factor that affects socio-economic measures, is the relative size of a core city within its total surrounding metro area. For instance, in both New York City and Chicago, almost half their total metro area population lives within their respective core city limits, which include more outlying middle-class areas like Queens. Toronto is the same way. By contrast, in Washington D.C., Atlanta, St. Louis, or San Francisco, only 1/6 or 1/7 of the total metro area population lives within the core city limits – therefore in such cases you are measuring a more concentrated inner-city core population, which may result in higher crime and poverty statistics. (The Missouri constitution, in fact, outright forbids St. Louis from expanding its city limits).

N.Y. City had only 500 murders last year, compared with 2,200 back in 1990. Of the 500, only 35 killings were by strangers unknown to the victims. Some cities such as Camden, NJ, Gary, IN, and Petersburg, VA, from what I’ve heard, are, frankly, nearly all “ghetto” within their city limits and therefore have few if any middle-class areas strictly inside the city.

Major resort/partying cities like Daytona Beach FL, Myrtle Beach SC, New Orleans LA, Atlantic City NJ, Las Vegas and Reno NV may show up as having high crime rates (and high liquor sales) because crime numbers are divided only into the official full-time resident population figure, rather than adjusting for the many thousands of additional people (and perpetrators) there who are not officially “residents”.
