New Security Council Members

The United Nations General Assembly has just approved the selection of Libya, Vietnam, Burkina Faso, Costa Rica and Croatia to join the Security Council on January 1, 2008. These five countries replace Qatar, Congo, Slovakia, Ghana, and Peru, ending their two-year terms at the close of 2007. The New York Times has more.
