I first learned about Curitiba, Brazil and its amazing efforts toward becoming a sustainable city and providing amazing services to their citizens when I worked as a GIS and planning intern for a local government. I was reminded of Curitiba today when reading National Geographic's My Wonderful World Blog. As the blog states, "Curitiba has been billed the 'best planned city in Brazil' and an 'international leader for sustainable development.'" Check it out.

I worked in Curitiba as plant beeding and genetics specialist. The city was/is clean and friendly.Lots of social pleasure(s),according to personal taste.Food is excellent, and FUN is cheap.
Yes, I have seen Curitiba praised highly in numerous magazine articles over the years. Their boulevards have dedicated bus-only lanes, and special enclosed passenger shelters where all riders pre-pay fares BEFORE the bus comes instead of when boarding. But Curitiba’s automobile ownership lately is growing at higher than the national average. On the subject of Brazil – I hear that Sao Paolo (the largest metropolis in South America) this year, outlawed all billboards and most outdoor advertisements, so the city looks more attractive. To get around the restriction, some building exteriors are being painted in solid colors associated with certain large businesses there.
I couldn’t agree more about Curitiba. Have you seen what they achieved regarding recycling rates, reduced car travel and increased wealth? You can read more about Curitiba on my website.
