News articles reporting that the U.S. Census Bureau would ask partner federal agencies not to enforce immigration law and not to conduct raids during around the time of the April 1, 2010 census sparked outrage nationwide. Citizens and politicians alike were angry that the Census Bureau would even consider such a thing. As a result, the U.S. Census Bureau issued a clarification on Saturday that dismissed such claims and stated that the bureau has not developed plans for law enforcement coordination as of yet. With these snafus happening more than two years away from the 2010 count, it's fun to look back on the problems of the 2000 Census from here on my site.
