Three Gorges Dam Passes Flood Test

The one-year-old Three Gorges Dam on the Yangtze River in China successfully saw its first peak flood flow and seemed to pass with flying colors. The dam, the world's largest flood-control and hydroelectric barrier, protected thousands downstream during peak flows which occurred a week ago today. The Washington Post has the scoop.
