Matt Rosenberg

The Twelve Nations of the U.S.

By , About.com GuideJuly 8, 2007

Follow me on:

Matt Kirkland has developed a plan and a map to divide the United States into twelve independent countries, along the lines of Joel Garreau's Nine Nations of North America. Matt's twelve entities include such interesting names as The Magic Kingdom of Florida, The Confederate States of the Atlantic, and El Republico de Tejas. Hat tip to strange maps.

Why too silly? I think it’s fun to think about. I checked out some of the comments on the map site. We all need to lighten up a bit and have some fun. :)

Very amusing! Made me smile. I am thinking there is a few scifi-fantasy books mulling in a few heads now.

This is a bunch of crap. I think that the guy that created this needs to leave the country if he doesnt like it. Yeah you think its a joke, but this isnt somthing to joke about. even if it was a joke, it didnt come out of no where. He must think this is a good idea in order to do this. I am proud to live in this country and proud for what we stand for. I’m tired of all these people that are here that don’t like our system. Its simple if you don’t like it here then leave, enough said.

Thank God I’m in Texas. As an independent nation that means we can easily avoid the soft hearted liberal whining when we do secure our borders and have a redo of the Alamo.
