Heat Index Tells How it Feels

The U.S. National Weather Service uses the Heat Index based on temperature and humidity to give the apparent temperature of the air. Visit the Heat Index Calculator to measure your heat index or scroll down the page to use a simple chart. For example, if it is 96 degrees and the relative humidity is 75%, then it feels like 132 degrees! According to the NWS, that is an extremely dangerous temperature and heat stroke is likely. I'm glad for our "dry heat" here in California!
