17% of Earth's Land Without Human Influence

A recent report in the journal Science states that (as of 1995) a mere seventeen percent of the earth's land surface remained free from direct human influence. National Geographic provides a fantastic map dramatically showing the human impact on the earth by showing the transportation networks of the planet along with more on the report.
