State Boundaries

I am often asked about the history or development of state boundaries. Fortunately, there is a book that includes a goldmine of information about this topic. Unfortunately, it was printed in 1966 and is quite difficult to find. The book is actually published as U.S. Geological Survey Bulletin number 1212 with a title of Boundaries of the United States and the Several States by F.K. Van Dandt, 1966. I've personally been trying to find a copy for about a decade. If anyone know of the whereabouts of an extra copy, let me know! :)

Do state boundaries change as a result of accretion?
I recently heard that those boundaries do not change as a result of accretions and the like. Is that correct. What is the authority for that?
