Ice Age Maps

By March 1, 2007

Follow me on:

Stephanie wrote to ask me about finding maps that indicate the extent of the last major ice age. I directed her to one of my favorite sites, the Paleomap Project and through a great article on the About.com Geology site called Mapping the Past (an article with that title has to be good!), I found the Global Land Environments Since the Last Interglacial site with its interesting maps. Enjoy!

Thank you for the map of the last glacial maximum. It is a very useful graphic, especially in this present furore over “global warming”. For myself, I find global warming much more reassuring than global cooling!
